Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the information needed to operate the platform: account email and password (hashed with bcrypt), profile name and avatar (optional), the skills and tasks you post, the news you read (for view counts), and aggregated anonymous usage analytics. If you sign in with GitHub or Google, we receive your public profile data from that provider β€” nothing more.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the data we collect to (a) authenticate you, (b) display your content to other users, (c) match news with relevant skills and tasks, and (d) improve the platform. We do not sell your data, and we do not run third-party advertising.

3. Cookies

We use a small set of first-party cookies: one for your authentication session, one for your language preference, and one for theme. We do not use cross-site tracking cookies.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in a managed PostgreSQL database. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Sessions use signed JWTs. We follow least-privilege access for any staff tooling. If we ever suffer a security breach affecting your data, we will notify affected users within 72 hours of discovery.

5. Your Rights

You can request a copy of your data, correct inaccurate data, or delete your account at any time. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@aiopportunityhub.com.

6. AI-Generated Content

The platform uses AI to summarize and match content. AI summaries are clearly labeled. Source links to the original articles are always provided so you can verify the information yourself.

7. Changes to This Policy

We will update this page when our practices change. Material changes will be announced on the homepage and via email at least 14 days before they take effect.
